Tamaki: A Living History is a website/web app that allows users to contribute stories based on their time living in, or immigrating to, Auckland’s Tamaki region.

I was in charge of the design of the website, including user interaction. As the bulk of imagery was to be user-submitted and therefore potentially of varying styles and levels of colour, it was important that the design be neutral. I chose a refined palette of beige, grey and black, with splashes of red to emphasise functional elements and links. These colours feature predominantly in Ma-ori culture; a fitting tie-in as the website will also feature stories of early Maori settlers in the area.

Note: this project is currently under development and therefore placeholder content has been used.
